Aquion named ANZ distributor for Java platform provider Azul – Distribution – Software

Sydney-based Aquion has been appointed as the Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) distributor for Java software provider Azul.

Aquion said it has been tapped to partner to offer Azul solutions to ANZ enterprises as an alternative to Oracle Java SE.

The company said Azul’s solutions help reduce Java licensing and cloud computing costs, as well as increase application performance and developer productivity.

Under the agreement, Aquion joined Azul’s PartnerConnect program.

“This valuable partnership with Azul couldn’t be more beneficial given the growing concerns about the costs of running a digital business today,” said Audrey Lyon, head of strategic business development at Aquion.

“Because Java underpins so many of an organisation’s digital services, by delivering stable, trusted and proven Java solutions, we help organisations across Australia and New Zealand realise their digitalisation goals and drive business impact through innovation.”

Aquion says Azul provides a stable, more secure, and compatible Java runtime environment at a price typically 70 percent lower than Oracle.

Additionally, Aquion said Azul’s Prime Platform improves Java application performance, reduces latency and ensures consistent performance, and enables cloud service cost reductions of up to 20 percent.

“Azul is pleased to partner with Aquion to expand our distribution and deepen our commitment to the valuable ANZ region. This is timely as we are currently experiencing the highest number of channel partner sign-ups ever, driven by enterprises desperately seeking more cost-effective Java runtime alternatives to their current vendor,” said Dean Vaughan, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Azul.
