A judge has released the name of a man who was killed Sunday morning while trying to cross Interstate 10.

Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. identifies the man as 65-year-old David Tanton. He says the family has been notified.

According to Judge Collins’ testimony, Tanton lived in a group home in Concord and left early Sunday morning.

He tried to cross Interstate 10 near Laurel, across from McDonald’s, around 4:30 a.m.
