Former AIG exec named CEO of HW Kaufman Group London

HW Kaufman Group said Tuesday that Paul Greensmith, a former executive at American International Group Inc., will join the company in October as chief executive of HW Kaufman Group London.

Mr Greensmith will head Kaufman’s operations in the UK, Europe, South America and the Middle East. He will report to Kaufman’s executive vice president, Jodie Kaufman Davis, the specialist brokerage and insurer said in a statement.

Mr Greensmith was most recently global head of specialism at AIG, a position he left in May. Before that, he was UK CEO of Axa XL, a unit of Axa SA.

Kaufman also announced that James Stevenson will move from his position as managing director of HW Kaufman Group London to the new role of executive chairman.

Andrew Thacker, Chief Executive of Chesterfield Insurance Brokers Ltd., will serve as Interim Managing Director of Chesterfield.
