Kopke Fruit expands west with two acquisitions

William H. Kopke Jr. Inc. expanded westward with the acquisition of Safco of America and RB Sandrini Cold Storage.

William H. Kopke Jr. Inc., a fresh fruit distributor based in Port Washington, N.Y., has acquired the operations of RB Sandrini Cold Storage in Delano, Calif., and the operations of Safco of America in Visalia, Calif. The strategic moves mark a significant milestone in Kopke’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in the industry, with a focus on expanding its operational capabilities on the West Coast.

Safco of America is an importer, exporter and distributor of grapes, citrus and cherries, with shipments exceeding 2,500,000 cases of fruit per year. Safco will complement Kopke’s efforts to enhance the product line and reach North America.
