Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro with refreshed design, Advanced ANC launched. Prices, specifications, more

Samsung, on Wednesday, July 10, unveiled its latest TWS earphones, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, at its Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. The new earbuds showcase a significant design change, featuring stems and Blade Lights that are reminiscent of Apple’s AirPods.

Prices and availability

The Galaxy Buds 3 are expected to retail for $179.99, while the Pro model will retail for $249.99. Potential buyers can choose between Silver and White colors. Pre-orders are starting immediately, with availability starting July 24. The company has announced that these products will go on sale in India starting July 24.

Design, Features and Specifications

The new Galaxy Buds 3 series boasts an IP57 rating against dust and water. Both models are equipped with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). The standard Galaxy Buds 3 have an 11mm dynamic driver, while the Pro version has a 10.5mm dynamic driver.

Using machine learning (ML), these earbuds can now improve voice clarity in noisy environments. They support Bluetooth 5.4 and above, with compatibility with various audio codecs, including AAC, SBC, SSC, HiFi and SSC UHQ.

The Galaxy Buds 3 use an open-back design, contrasting with the in-ear setup of the Pro model. The Pro version stands out with a two-way speaker system, combining a 10.5 mm dynamic driver and a 6.1 mm planar speaker. Both models are equipped with three microphones and voice pickup units. Both the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro are equipped with intelligent ANC functions. It automatically adjusts noise cancellation levels based on the environment, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.

The latest Galaxy Buds series introduces voice command functionality, allowing users to manage music playback without physically interacting with the earbuds or connected devices. Both models in the series feature active noise cancellation (ANC) and are IP55-rated for durability.

The Pro version has lights on the stem and lets you adjust the volume with pinch and swipe gestures.

In terms of battery, the standard model packs a 48mAh battery in each earbud and a 515mAh battery in the case, promising up to 30 hours of total playtime (24 with ANC). The Pro model gets an upgraded battery to 53mAh per earbud, while maintaining the same case capacity and offering up to 30 hours of usage (26 with ANC).

Both the variants will be available in Silver and White colours. While the launch date has been set for July 24, pricing details for the Indian market are yet to be revealed.
