Power Infrastructure: Noida Authority to Add Power Substations Along Eway for New Housing Complexes | Noida News

Noida: With more residential complexes coming up along the Noida Expressway, the Noida Authority has planned to revamp the power infrastructure in newer sectors in the area. Earlier, tenders for substations along the expressway sections were floated three times, but they did not elicit adequate response. Now, fresh tenders have been floated for construction of substations in sectors 155, 156 and 164 along the expressway. Tenders for proposed substations in sectors 45, 78 and 145 will also be floated soon. Most of these substations will have a capacity of 33/11 kV and are expected to be ready by early next year, officials said. Once completed, the substations are expected to help in better distribution of power in these areas, they added. “Six 33/11 kV substations are to be constructed in sectors 151, 155, 156, 162, 164 and Nagla Charan Dass in Phase 2 under Bisrakh block, along with feeder lines in some sectors,” said Rajesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager (DGM), Electrical and Maintenance Department, Noida Authority. Kumar added that the tender process for construction of power substations in sectors 151 and 162 has also been expedited. “Population is expected to increase in most of the sectors, communities and villages around Noida Expressway. In such a situation, more emphasis is being laid on this side. The Authority is gearing up for improving the power system in the sectors adjoining the expressway in the coming time,” he said. Once completed, the new substations are expected to decongest the older sectors and improve supply in the coming years, while the new feeder lines will also lead to better power days in the future,” the official said.
