Deregulation aims to revive Vietnam’s solar and other renewable energy sectors

HO CHI MINH – New regulations are set to boost the use of solar and wind power in Vietnam, where companies such as Apple and H&M are increasingly considering switching their supply chains to renewable energy.

Under a regulation called Decree 80, issued last week, the communist country allows companies to buy renewable energy from producers rather than rely on state electricity monopoly Vietnam Electricity.
