13 Explosive Devices Seized During Traffic Stop On I-80

TOBYHANNA TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police said a driver was arrested after 13 improvised explosive devices were seized during a traffic stop.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on July 5, officers stopped a car for a traffic violation on Interstate 80 east in Tobyhanna Parish.

Police say they suspected the driver was intoxicated and a search warrant was issued. During the search, officers say they found and seized 13 improvised explosive devices in the suspect’s car.

Man wanted for threatening to shoot four men

The state police Dangerous Devices and Explosives Task Force was called in and seized the devices for further investigation.

The driver, a 46-year-old man from Florida, was charged and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
