In her speech on behalf of Minister Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Al-Azzam emphasized that renewable energy sources currently constitute about 30% of Jordan’s energy mix. She emphasized the need to use modern technologies to achieve cleaner energy production and reduce carbon dioxide emissions in line with global standards. Al-Azzam appreciated the significant support provided by the European Union to Jordan’s energy sector, highlighting the fruitful partnership aimed at promoting green energy initiatives. The Forum serves as a key platform to promote deeper cooperation between Jordan and the EU, promote bilateral investments and facilitate Jordan’s exports to EU markets.

The one-day forum, held on Tuesday, aimed to showcase investment opportunities in Jordan, align priorities between Jordan and the EU, and facilitate partnerships between policymakers, local companies, international investors, and advocacy organizations. It created a robust environment for discussions on strategic investments in green growth sectors, including renewable energy, which are key to Jordan’s sustainable development goals.

As Jordan continues to prioritize renewable energy investments and foster international partnerships, stakeholders remain optimistic about the potential for expanded Jordan-EU cooperation in the energy sector. The Forum concluded with a renewed commitment to sustainable development and a shared vision for a greener future.
