Protest against the policies of the Congress government

The Karnataka BJP has announced a protest to lay siege to Vidhana Soudha on July 15, targeting the alleged anti-Dalit policies of the Congress government. The decision was taken at a meeting led by BJP state unit president BY Vijayendra and co-in-charge Sudhakar Reddy, among other key members.

According to BJP general secretary Sunil Kumar, the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government has been accused of misappropriating funds meant for the welfare of SC/ST communities, an allegation that is allegedly supported by diverting funds from Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) to other welfare programmes.

The protest, scheduled to begin the nine-day monsoon session of the Karnataka Legislature, includes a meeting at Freedom Park. BJP leaders are also organising a “mega” protest in Mysuru on July 12 over a fraudulent land allotment case involving the chief minister’s wife.
