Beam Global Receives Order to Store Energy for Transport Refrigeration Units

The global refrigerated trailer market is expected to be worth $4.2 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow to $6.3 billion by 2030. North America and Europe are seeing steady growth in demand for clean technology solutions for the industry, driven by government initiatives and growing consumer awareness.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB), in partnership with CALSTART, launched the Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE) to encourage California businesses to purchase or lease currently commercialized zero-emission transportation equipment by providing a streamlined voucher process to offset the higher costs of such technologies. Transport refrigeration units are eligible for CORE financing, which, when combined with diesel fuel savings, creates significant economic incentives for owners and operators.

“This order is another example of the diverse growth opportunities Beam Global is experiencing as we expand into energy storage,” said Beam Global CEO Desmond Wheatley. “Beam AllCell energy storage solutions are the ideal choice for the higher performance our customers require, and we look forward to continuing to explore new opportunities to grow our revenue through the increasing electrification of all aspects of transportation.”

Beam AllCell energy storage solutions utilize patented PCC technology, which enables more power in a smaller, lighter battery. Advanced thermal management capabilities of PCC technology also mitigate the spread of runaway heat, providing excellent safety and the ability to operate efficiently in hot and cold environments.
