This week, there were some notable new additions to the workforce at IMS Marketing, Aon Ireland, Nestlé Ireland and DCC plc.

Leonie Tansey, Managing director,
IMS Marketing – LOCOMOTIVE Agency

IMS Marketing has announced the appointment of Leonie Tansey as its new Managing Director. Tansey has also been appointed SVP of European Operations at IMS Marketing’s parent company, LOCOMOTIVE Agency. With a wealth of international marketing and business development experience, Tansey will be responsible for driving growth and strategic direction for both entities.

Last year, Oranmore-based IMS Marketing was acquired by US digital marketing firm LOCOMOTIVE Agency. The Galway-based firm supports export-oriented B2B businesses in Ireland and Europe to achieve success in their overseas expansion by providing go-to-market strategies that include integrated brand and digital marketing implementations. This is now underpinned by LOCOMOTIVE’s award-winning SEO and digital advertising expertise.

In her new role, Tansey will be responsible for driving the cross-development of IMS Marketing and LOCOMOTIVE, leveraging their customer bases in Europe and the US to help each other and their clients grow.

Tansey will also oversee the seamless integration of IMS Marketing and LOCOMOTIVE Agency services, providing clients in Ireland and the US with a unified and comprehensive service experience. To ensure that the services offered continue to be at the forefront of the industry, Tansey will focus on nurturing the company’s reputation for innovation, as well as exploring new technologies and methodologies that can enhance this. Following the acquisition of IMS Marketing by LOCOMOTIVE Agency, the Galway-based company has announced the creation of 20 new positions in Ireland to support its expanded transatlantic operations. As the team grows, Tansey will be strongly focused on developing a world-class remote culture that inspires team members, wherever they are, to achieve their highest potential.

In addition to Tansey’s appointment, founder Kevin Moran will continue to focus on growing the Irish business and now the US business – both domestically and internationally. In taking on the role of Director of Global Sales Strategy for IMS and LOCOMOTIVE, Kevin will build on his success with IMS. Since founding in 2007, Kevin has grown IMS into a business employing over 30 people, helping over 100 active clients enter over 20 international markets.

Tansey’s career has included senior roles in branding, marketing and digital marketing – both in Ireland and New Zealand. She joined IMS Marketing in 2014 as a Client Manager. Prior to joining IMS she worked as a B2B Marketing Manager at software company, Enerit and also at Supermac’s as a Brand Manager where she managed the launch of the Papa John’s Pizza brand to over 25 locations across Ireland.

Tansey holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Studies from the University of Ireland, Galway. He also holds a Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School and a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute.

Leonie Tansey, Managing Director of IMS Marketing and Vice President of European Operations at LOCOMOTIVE, said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Managing Director at the company where I have spent the last 10 years developing my career. We have a world-class team and I am confident that this is the start of an exciting journey for us all. I am committed to driving growth for our organisation by prioritising culture, supporting innovation and ensuring that we continue to deliver the highest quality service to our clients on both sides of the Atlantic.

“I am incredibly grateful to Kevin Moran, our founder, for his guidance, mentorship and friendship over the past decade. I look forward to continuing to achieve great things together.”
