Barco ClickShare Bar improved with dual display support

Barco has improved its flagship ClickShare hybrid conferencing bar to add dual-display support and several other important features.

Announced as part of the vendor’s ClickShare summer feature update, Barco is enhancing the ClickShare Bar with dual-display support to allow users to view participants and content on two screens or in full resolution. Barco has also enhanced the video bar with stereo audio support, the ability to compile usage data in ClickShare-powered rooms via Microsoft Teams, a new control panel accessible via the ClickShare desktop app, and Miracast content sharing.

Official Barco Summer Update written for ClickShare:

ClickShare Video Bar Pro now supports dual display, allowing you to view people and content on two screens simultaneously, or watch content in full resolution while participants in the room share content. This facilitates better visualization, better communication, and makes remote participants truly feel heard and seen.”

More details on other new features

Barco suggests that ClickShare’s compatibility with stereo audio will provide participants with a more complete experience, with clearer sound when sharing audio content in the same room.

Barco says the new control panel for ClickShare Video Bar will enable immediate control over an organization’s videoconferencing environment without disrupting the flow of meetings. It can be accessed directly from the ClickShare Desktop App or by pressing the ClickShare button.

With the new control panel, users and administrators can switch between Group, Speaker, and Composition frames to keep participants in the center, regardless of presentation style. Camera direction and zoom can be fine-tuned to achieve clear visibility and sharp detail. Volume can also be adjusted to suit the size of the room and clarity for all participants. These features are designed to streamline meetings, making them more dynamic and accessible.

The new Miracast feature in ClickShare Video Bar increases the flexibility of content sharing. Miracast, a wireless technology, allows users to mirror their laptop screen to a display in the room without the need for a Wi-Fi connection. In addition to supporting AirPlay and Google Chromecast, Miracast provides convenient content sharing for all users, making ClickShare Video Bar a versatile tool for sharing ideas.

In February, Barco’s collaboration with ClickShare and integration with Microsoft enabled ClickShare devices to transmit usage data to Microsoft’s Teams Rooms Pro management portal.

The latest update extends these capabilities to the ClickShare button, enabling Microsoft Teams to collect and organize usage data by room in the Portal. Previously, all ClickShare buttons were displayed as a single device in the Portal. Each button is uniquely identified and associated with a specific conference room. It is displayed separately, giving IT managers detailed information about room usage, occupancy, device inventory, and more, streamlining overall meeting management.

Finally, Barco’s update introduces the option to disable LocalView. This allows for increased privacy and control over the content displayed on the screen. IT administrators can disable LocalView with a simple toggle or checkbox in the ClickShare web interface and XMS Cloud management platform.
