Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector soars, growth rate 76 percent

Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s logistics services sector achieved a 76 per cent growth rate, registering a total of 11,928 companies, making it the leading sector according to the Business Sector Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Commerce in the second quarter of this year.

The bulletin presented the most important economic events in various regions of the country.

The artificial intelligence (AI) sector also saw growth, increasing 53 percent to 8,948 registrations.

Riyadh is the country with the highest number of registrations with 5,492, followed by Makkah with 1,789, the Eastern Region with 939, Medina with 254 and Asir with 115.

Cloud computing services also saw growth, with 2,358 people signing up 43% compared to 1,648 during the same period last year.

Riyadh took the lead with 1,446 registrations, followed by Makkah with 473, the Eastern Region with 272, Medina with 57 and Qassim with 25.

Additionally, the e-gaming industry saw a 29 percent increase in commercial registrations, which totaled 336 in the second quarter of 2024, compared to 260 in the same quarter of 2023.
