Holcim US has acquired King William Sand & Gravel Co., a manufacturer based in King William County, Virginia.

The acquisition will provide Holcim with reserves of sand and gravel to meet the construction needs of customers in central Virginia.

“Acquisitions that complement our strengths and expand our reach are an important part of Holcim US’s growth strategy,” said Toufic Tabbara, head of Holcim’s North America region. “By welcoming King William Sand & Gravel, we will become an even stronger aggregates leader to meet the needs of our customers in the growing Richmond and central Virginia area.”

Holcim said the acquisition complements its existing operations and footprint in the region, which includes more than 30 facilities offering crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt and ready-mix concrete. King William Sand & Gravel has sand and gravel operations outside the Richmond metropolitan area.

“King William Sand & Gravel has strong roots in the community, including relationships with key players in the construction industry who are working to transform the roads, infrastructure and buildings of the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Sridhar Goteti, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Holcim Mid-Atlantic Region. “Their strengths will complement our supply and distribution segments and help us meet the growing demand for sustainable building solutions in this dynamic market. We look forward to welcoming the King William team to the Holcim family.”
