Cleantech Group/Invest Alberta Event Decarbonizing Data Centers

Live Event: September 19, 2024, 3:00–6:00 PM, San Francisco, CA

Estimates of how much data centers will use over the next few years vary. The IEA has released statistics that suggest that in 2022, data centers will use 460 TWh, but that number could rise to 650 TWh to 1,050 TWh over the next few years (roughly as much as Sweden or Germany).

To address the issue of decarbonizing data centers, we need to look at different renewable energy solutions and how other industries are also decarbonizing:

  • What role do advanced technologies such as SMR, LDES, network enhancement technologies, and energy-efficient computing play?
  • Can we better manage traffic to meet the needs of data centers?
  • How many more renewable energy sources will need to be built? Or is it better to build them in-situ?

Thermal energy storage, waste heat capture and new nuclear power plants will play a very important role, alongside topics such as immersion cooling.

Join us for an interactive panel and Q&A, followed by drinks and networking. The event will be hosted by Cleantech Group in partnership with Invest Alberta on September 19tht in San Francisco. This is a limited-capacity event, so request your invitation now.
