Tinubu announces new head of more agencies

President Bola Tinubu on Saturday appointed new heads of some federal government agencies and two assistants.
The nominations were announced on Saturday by the president’s spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
According to the statement, President Tinubu approved the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Cleanup Project (HYPREP), D National Pension Commission (PenCom), Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), National Agricultural Land Development Authority as well as a new Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
The President also appointed a new Special Advisor for Senate Affairs and a Senior Special Assistant for Livestock Development.
According to the statement, Tinubu approved the appointment of Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi as the new coordinator of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP),
Adekanmbi is a former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture and Tourism in Ondo State and a Fellow of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) who holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Management.
The President expects to leverage his competence, commitment and professionalism in fulfilling HYPREP’s mission of rehabilitating and revitalizing communities affected by hydrocarbon pollution, with particular emphasis on Ogoniland in Nigeria.
The President also approved the appointment of Ms Omolola Bridget Oloworaran as the new Director General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom).
Oloworaran is a finance and banking expert with many years of experience. However, her appointment is subject to confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Mr Jobson Ewalefoh as the new Director-General of the Infrastructure Concessions Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
Ewalefoh is a professional with many years of experience in government and development organizations, and a specialist in public-private partnerships, public policy reform and development.
His nomination is also subject to confirmation by the Senate.
Tinubu also approved the appointment of Mr. Cornelius Adebayo as the new Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Development Agency (NALDA)
Adebayo is an engineer as well as an expert in community and social development.
The President expects the new Director General of NALDA to leverage his competence and experience to support and stimulate the development and sustainable growth of the Nigerian agricultural sector.
Another important appointment made by the President on Saturday was that of Dr Mainasara Umar Kogo as the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
Kogo is an experienced lawyer and analyst in the fields of law, security, economics, politics and international diplomacy.
The President expects professionalism, integrity and loyalty to the nation in the performance of the functions of the Office of the President of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
Similarly, President Tinubu approved the appointment of Senator Bashir Lado Mohammed as his Special Adviser on Senate Affairs.
Mohammed, a seasoned politician and businessman from Kano State, is a former senator representing Kano Central and a former Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Finally, the President approved the appointment of Mr. Idris Ajimobi to the position of Senior Special Assistant for Animal Husbandry Development.
This appointment follows the recent establishment of the Presidential Committee for the Implementation of Livestock Breeding Reforms and the creation of a new Ministry of Livestock Breeding Development.
Tinubu aims to harness and develop Nigeria’s agricultural potential, including the livestock ecosystem, to spur sustainable economic growth, create industries and jobs, and gradually eradicate violent conflicts between farmers and herders.
The President expects efficient coordination and communication in matters concerning this key sector.
