New judge appointed – InDaily

Aaron Almeida will begin work next week following the retirement of Judge Jayne Basheer.

Almeida has practised criminal law for 22 years and was a director of his own firm and served as Principal Lecturer in Advocacy at the College of Law, Adelaide.

Attorney General Kyam Maher welcomed Almeida’s appointment.

“He is highly regarded by his peers in South Australia and has been listed as one of the top criminal lawyers in Adelaide for four consecutive years in the prestigious Doyle’s Guide magazine,” Maher said.
