You may not want to spend money on a camera, but if you are unlucky enough to be involved in an accident, the footage from the camera will prove invaluable.

Inure Daily director Paul Daly told The Daily Express: “More and more insurers are recognising the value of dash cams as they not only help identify who is at fault in an accident but also protect against potential insurance fraud.

“Dash cameras play a significant role in insurance claim disputes because they provide objective and reliable footage that can be a decisive factor in establishing the sequence of events leading up to an accident.”

He added that drivers can save a lot on high administrative costs and explained that sometimes insurers will waive the excess if a car is equipped with a dashcam.

The benefits of having a dash cam are numerous.

At least they protect drivers from baseless accusations.

However, the amount you can save may vary depending on your insurer.
