Skimming Devices Found At Big Y Stores In Naugatuck, Plainville

NAUGATUCK, CT — Big Y officials said they are “actively investigating” after two skimming devices were found at stores in Connecticut.

In a news release Monday, store officials said they recently discovered an unknown person attached a skimming device to a single terminal at stores in Naugatuck and Plainville on June 29.

Store officials said they are working with police to actively investigate the circumstances of this incident.

“We have inspected all of our terminals and continue to do so,” the release reads. “If we learn that any particular customer’s information has been compromised, we will promptly notify them and provide them with additional information so that they can take steps to protect themselves.”

Store officials also recommended customers review their bank and credit card statements for any signs of fraudulent activity.
