Amazon Prime Day 2024 | Amazon predicts smartphones, electronic gadgets and home appliances will be the largest categories

Amazon Prime Day, which begins on July 20, is a two-day members-only event where only paying subscribers can access deals and launches on the e-commerce site. This year, Amazon says Prime Day will offer great deals to members. Amazon is expecting a pan-India presence on these two days of Prime Day sales.

“We offer great deals across categories, from home appliances to electronics, smartphones, laptops and everything you can imagine,” said Abhinav Agarwal, Director and Head of Prime, Amazon India. This Hindu.

Abhinav said over 450 brands will launch thousands of new products, while small and medium-sized retailers will showcase over 3,200 new products, which continues to be an area of focus for Amazon.

“Smartphones, electronics and home appliances are generally our biggest categories on Prime Day,” Abhinav said.

During last year’s Prime Day, 2 out of 3 orders placed by Prime members came from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, Amazon said.

Amazon says that in 2024, 50% of orders placed with Prime users were delivered the same day or next day.

Amazon currently offers three-tiered pricing with different bundled services to join Prime. Two of these were added last year.

Prime Shopping, which costs ₹399 per year, only covers Prime purchases and shipping.

Prime Lite at Rs 799 per year includes all shipping and shopping benefits and also gives access to the movie catalog on a single device, which can be a mobile phone or a TV screen, but with ads.

For the premium services, users have to pay Rs 1,499, which gives them all the benefits like shipping, shopping, returns, multi-device login, access to movies and music services, and no ads.

“The response to both the solutions (Shopping and Lite) has been very encouraging in terms of customer sign-ups and availing benefits, hence we are rolling them out to other customers across India,” Abhinav said.

Please note that regular customers who do not have Prime status will not be able to take advantage of Prime Day deals as it is a members-only event.
