Opposition leader and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, July 16, lashed out at the BJP-led NDA government and said the government should take full responsibility for the repeated security lapses and take strict action against the culprits.

On Tuesday morning, four Indian Army soldiers, including a major, died of injuries following the Doda clash in Jammu and Kashmir.

His post further reads, “These continuous terror attacks expose the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Our soldiers and their families are bearing the brunt of BJP’s misguided policies. Every patriotic Indian demands that the government takes full responsibility for the repeated security lapses and takes strict action against the culprits.”

What did Congress say?

Following the terror attack, the Congress party launched a devastating attack on the central government by posting a social media post on X titled “Rating Modi.” The drastic post claimed that there had been nine terror attacks in the 38 days since Modi’s third term as Prime Minister.

The post also noted that 12 soldiers were killed and 13 soldiers and 44 civilians were injured in the recent terrorist attacks. 10 civilians lost their lives.

Consoling the loss of soldiers, another post by the Congress party reads, “Four of our soldiers were killed in a terrorist encounter in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir.” The party expressed condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.

Party president Mallikarjun Kharge in a post on X said, “Our hearts go out to the families of our brave men who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of Bharat Mata. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured and we wish them a speedy and complete recovery.”

Attacking the central government, he said, “The Modi government is behaving as if everything is ‘normal’ and nothing has changed. They must know that the Jammu region is increasingly suffering the consequences of these attacks. We cannot compromise our national security by indulging in false bravado, false narratives and high-level whitewashing.”He further claimed that the Indian National Congress stands firmly with our valiant armed forces and that the nation must “collectively fight the scourge of cross-border terrorism.”
