Lohia Group calls for strong policy support to boost electric mobility

Lohia CEO Ayush Lohia called for long-term policy support to promote electric mobility in India. Talking to reporters, Lohia stressed the need for clear and sincere government policies to support the sector’s growth.

Lohia advocated for solid support through programmes like FAME 2, calling for a clear five-year vision. He expected full commitment from the government in setting up the new FAME 3 programme.

The government is reportedly working on implementing the FAME III programme to promote electric mobility across the country. Lohia further stressed on the importance of prioritising loans for the electric vehicle sector and establishing a battery replacement policy.

Lohia on Tuesday announced plans to expand the company’s electric three-wheeler offering by unveiling five new battery-powered rickshaw models by the end of the month. Lohia Group is set to invest Rs 20 crore this fiscal to strengthen its R&D, infrastructure and market reach, with a view to doubling both its sales volume and dealership network.
