New NSITF CEO takes office

Next TPresident Bola Tinubu’s recently handpicked Oluwaseun Faleye assumed office yesterday in Abuja as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Social Security Trust Fund (NSITF).

Accompanied by Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay, who takes over as executive director of operations, Faleye pledged to leave a lasting legacy of improving the organisation.

The handover ceremony, which was held on Wednesday at the Fund’s headquarters, was marked by Faleye’s commitment to strengthen NSITF’s position as a leading social security agency, Nwachukwu Godson, said in a statement.

“I am here to work with stakeholders to redesign and reposition the NSITF. My vision is to ensure that I leave the NSITF in a much better shape than I found it today,” affirmed Faleye, a seasoned attorney and corporate finance expert

Given the challenges facing the company, Faleye stressed the need for strategic restructuring aimed at increasing operational efficiency.

According to the new CEO, organizational restructuring will be the cornerstone of his efforts. He also emphasized the need for a thorough assessment of needs across departments in order to effectively streamline operations.

Addressing the assembled staff, Faleye urged dedication and assured them of upcoming measures to improve their well-being and ease their duties. He also expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Maureen Allagoa, for her service and smooth handover process.

Executive Director for Finance and Investment, Adegoke Adediji, praised Faleye’s appointment and urged him to use his political connections to reform the agency.

The event was chaired by Prof. Gabriel Okenwa, Executive Director of Administration, who praised the new leadership as a beacon of hope for the future of NSITF. He commended President Tinubu’s selection of Faleye and Alli-Macaulay, citing their exemplary qualities.

The ceremony, attended by department heads and regional leaders via Zoom, concluded with a tour of the NSITF headquarters led by Prof. Okenwa, who showcased the proactive approach of the new administration.
