“Empowering Women and Girls for Sustainable Development”

Media accreditation for the event “Public policies to combat hunger and poverty: empowering women and girls for sustainable development”, which will be held in parallel with the meeting of the G20 Task Force to Build a Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, to be held in Rio de Janeiro on 24 July.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in Galpão da Cidadania and will take the form of a panel discussion with the participation of:

● First Lady of Brazil, Janja Lula da Silva

● Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheik Hasina

● Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), Cindy McCain

● President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Álvaro Lario

● President of the Brazilian National Council for Food and Nutrition Security (CONSEA), Elisabetta Recine

The panel will be moderated by activist Sabrina Dhowre Elba, Chair of the Europe Board of Global Citizens and UN Goodwill Ambassador to IFAD.

Accreditations will be accepted until July 22. Media representatives who meet the requirements will receive confirmation via email.

There may be a maximum limit on the number of credentials to be issued per vehicle, taking into account the need to maximize media presence and press room capacity. Applying for accreditation is not a guarantee that a press credential will be issued.
