NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks closed higher on Thursday with Umang Dairies Ltd. (up 14.65%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd. (up 4.98%), Gillette India Ltd. (up 3.13%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd. (up 2.83%), Hindustan Foods Ltd. (up 2.73%), Patanjali Foods Ltd. (up 2.66%), Marico Ltd. (up 2.63%), Emami Ltd. (up 2.42%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd. (up 2.03%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 1.86%) among the top gainers.

Sheetal Cool Products Ltd. (down 2.30%), ADF Foods Ltd. (down 2.25%), Adani Wilmar Ltd. (down 1.97%), Heritage Foods Ltd. (down 1.72%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd. (down 1.65%), Vadilal Industries Ltd. (down 1.05%), Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd. (down 0.95%), Dangee Dums Ltd. (down 0.81%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd. (down 0.73%) and Varun Beverages Ltd. (down 0.53%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day up 187.85 points at 24,800.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 626.91 points higher at 81,343.46.

LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 3.5%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 3.29%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 2.81%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (up 2.6%), Wipro Ltd. (up 2.42%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (up 2.38%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (up 2.28%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (up 1.92%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.86%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 1.86%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd. (down 1.45%), Coal India Ltd. (down 1.41%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (down 1.37%), Grasim Industries Ltd. (down 1.26%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (down 0.95%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.71%), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (down 0.55%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 0.43%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 0.36%) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (down 0.35%) ended in the red.
