Microsoft releases AI-powered designer app for creating images

Microsoft (MSFT) officially launched its AI-powered Designer App, where users can generate images and designs using text prompts.

Designer is now available online in over 80 languages, as a free mobile app for Android and iOS, and as a Windows app.

The newest “Hint Templates” option offers ideas, styles, and descriptions that can be customized to your needs using AI.

Additionally, users can create personalized stickers, emojis, vector graphics, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and more by providing simple descriptions.

The platform will help users transform their photos into new images with the “Change Image Style” option and add custom frames to their photos with the “Frame Image” option.

The app also integrates with Microsoft products such as Word and PowerPoint via Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Photos.

Additionally, the company plans to release an app update for Word that will let users request a banner for a document, and a design will be generated automatically based on the content.

The tech giant encouraged people to use AI responsibly. It said: “We have implemented a responsible AI process and taken actions to mitigate negative impacts and further prevent misuse, including guardrails, threat monitoring and abuse detection, and provenance technology, and we are continually working to strengthen our security systems to help create a safer environment.”
