Keppel and Sojitz sign memorandum of understanding to collaborate on decarbonisation and clean energy business opportunities in Asia Pacific

Keppel Ltd., through its Infrastructure Division, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tokyo-based investment and trading company Sojitz Corporation (Sojitz). The agreement aims to jointly pursue decarbonization and clean energy business opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the MOU, Keppel and Sojitz will work together to identify and develop a range of bioenergy and resource recovery projects. They will also invest in and operate energy solutions that support the energy transition in the Asia Pacific region. The partnership will leverage Keppel’s Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) expertise and proprietary enterprise solutions in markets where Sojitz operates.

The agreement was signed by Ms. Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel’s Infrastructure Division, and Mr. Takefumi Nishikawa, Chief Operating Officer of Sojitz’s Energy Solution & Healthcare Division. The signing ceremony, held at Sojitz’s headquarters in Tokyo, was led by Mr. Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel, and Mr. Kosuke Uemura, Representative Director, President & Chief Operating Officer of Sojitz.

Ms. Cindy Lim expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Keppel is pleased to work with Sojitz in a mutually beneficial partnership, leveraging Keppel’s expertise in energy and environmental technologies and Sojitz’s international presence. This collaboration demonstrates how like-minded companies can work together to expand their reach and drive growth.”

This development is not expected to have a material impact on Keppel’s net tangible assets per share or earnings per share for the current financial year.
