Tesla and Intersect Power have signed an agreement for 15.3 GWh of Tesla’s Megapack battery storage systems for Intersect Power’s portfolio of solar + storage projects through 2030. This agreement, together with previous commitments, positions Intersect Power as one of the largest global purchasers and operators of Megapacks, with nearly 10 GWh of large-scale battery storage expected to be deployed by the end of 2027. Tesla has previously supplied Megapacks for Intersect Power’s core portfolio of solar + storage facilities, totaling 2.4 GWh in operation or under construction. More than half of the new Megapack order will be used for four projects in California and Texas.

“Intersect continues to be an exceptional partner, and their development experience combined with Tesla’s plug-and-play technology provides the speed and scale needed to increase grid resiliency and support greater integration of renewable energy sources,” said Mike Snyder, senior director, Tesla Energy.

“No one in the market can match Tesla’s depth of experience in storage technology,” added Sheldon Kimber, CEO of Intersect Power. “This partnership is the foundation for one of the largest and fastest-growing storage portfolios in the country here at Intersect Power. This storage franchise is the perfect complement to our multi-billion dollar renewables expansion, which is expected to more than triple the size of our company over the next three years.”
