ASR wants to raise 800 million euros for its debut renewable energy fund | News

asr real estate, one of the largest insurers in the Netherlands, has debuted its first infrastructure sector fund. ASR Dutch Green Energy Fund I currently has a size of around €400 million ($437 million), and ASR aims to increase it to €800 million ($874 million).

The renewable energy fund will invest primarily in solar and wind farms in the Netherlands, with the option to invest in battery storage, enabling asr real estate to contribute to the energy transition in the Netherlands. The fund’s portfolio consists of four Dutch wind farms with a total of 48 wind turbines and a solar farm with 60,000 solar panels. The vehicle delivers 583 gigawatt-hours of energy per year, which could provide energy for more than 200,000 households.

ASR Levensverzekering NV, a life insurance company and one of the main operating entities of the ASR Group, acts as the main investor.
