Technical Regulations: Latest News, Schedules and Results

Hungarian Grand Prix: Invicta Racing’s Kush Maini on Saturday became the first Indian driver to win a Formula 2 race, inheriting first place in the Hungarian Grand Prix sprint after winner Richard Verschoor was disqualified from the results. At the conclusion of the FIA Formula 2 sprint race in Budapest, Trident’s Verschoor was disqualified after a technical investigation revealed irregularities with his car.

The FIA Technical Delegate’s post-race report indicated that the board on car No. 22 had a maximum thickness of 3.7mm at the rearmost inspection hole, below the minimum thickness specified in the 2024 FIA Formula 2 technical regulations, the FIA said in a statement on Saturday. It was determined that the board fitted to Verschoor’s car was indeed below the required minimum thickness, in breach of Article 3.4.3 of the technical regulations, and car No. 22 was disqualified from the sprint race classification.

Campos Racing’s Isack Hadjar also finished last on the podium, taking a point for fastest lap, while DAMS Lucas Oil’s Juan Manuel Correa took the final point, finishing eighth.
