Microsoft’s Global Outage Causes Disruption Across Sectors

A massive Microsoft system outage on Friday paralyzed flights, banks, media and businesses around the world, affecting critical IT systems and operations.

The Association of Mutual Funds of India (AMFI) said five asset management firms experienced disruptions in key functions. These issues were resolved within the day without any significant impact on operations.

The outage was caused by a new update from cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike that affected Windows-based systems. Despite the disruption, stock exchanges and major financial institutions remained largely unaffected.
