FilmRise Names Katherine Weinstein Chief Content Sales and Distribution Officer

FilmRise, the New York-based film and television studio and streaming network, has named Katherine Weinstein its chief content sales and distribution officer.

Weinstein joined FilmRise in September 2021 as Head of Content Acquisition in the Content Acquisitions department.

In her new role, Weinstein will be responsible for leading the development of designated AVOD accounts, cultivating client relationships by presenting content to them, developing partnerships, expanding FilmRise’s presence on select partner platforms, and analyzing key performance metrics to inform sales strategies.

Weinstein will report directly to Daniel Gagliardi, vice president of content sales and distribution.

Her extensive knowledge of the company’s mission and business will undoubtedly enhance her already impressive experience.”

As a Content Acquisition Manager, Weinstein negotiated and executed complex multi-platform, multi-territory licensing agreements for a variety of distribution rights, including AVOD, FAST, SVOD, TVOD, and EST. These agreements included content such as The Wiggles Classics library, the television series Z Nation, and the television series Corner Gas. Prior to joining FilmRise, Weinstein was an adead of the OTT content acquisition team and a content acquisition and strategy specialist at Discovery. Prior to that, she was a content acquisition specialist at DLA.
