Renewable Energy in Dairy: TP Renewable and NDDB Collaboration: Rediff Moneynews

Tata Power’s TP Renewable Microgrid collaborates with NDDB to promote renewable energy in the dairy sector, including solarisation and biogas integration.

New Delhi, July 25 (PTI) Tata Power on Thursday said its subsidiary TP Renewable Microgrid has entered into a preliminary agreement with the National Dairy Development Board to facilitate various initiatives to promote renewable energy technologies in the dairy value chain.

Meenesh Shah, chairman and managing director of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Manoj Gupta, CEO, TP Renewable Microgrid signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), a statement said.

A key element of this collaboration is a number of key initiatives aimed at increasing sustainability and operational efficiency across the milk value chain.

This includes the solarisation of Dairy Cooperatives (DCS), Bulk Milk Coolers (BMC) and Milk Cooling Centres, made possible by state-of-the-art solar micro-grid technology.

In addition, the partnership emphasizes the integration of manure-based biogas electricity generators into these microgrids, which will contribute to the development of sustainable energy practices in the dairy sector.

Shah said: “By integrating renewable energy solutions, we aim to increase operational efficiency across the dairy value chain and promote the use of green fuels.”

The key plank of this partnership is to transform Mujkuva village in Anand district of Gujarat into a carbon neutral village. This venture aims to promote sustainability in rural economies and foster a greener future for the dairy industry.

Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Power, said, “Our partnership with NDDB will revolutionise the dairy sector through the integration of advanced renewable energy technologies, which will significantly reduce carbon emissions and increase operational efficiency.
