Gas prices are rising in Winnipeg

Gasoline prices in Winnipeg are rising, topping $1.50 a litre on Wednesday.

The average price rose by almost two cents overnight Tuesday, according to Gas Buddy. The price was also up 8.5 cents from the previous week and 14.5 cents from June.

Gasoline prices have been rising since hitting a three-year low earlier this year, when they hovered around $1.12 a litre. Those low prices came shortly after the Manitoba government introduced a petrol tax holiday.

The 14-cent-per-litre gas tax suspension is currently in effect until the end of September. Earlier this month, CTV News Winnipeg reported it could be extended until the end of the year.
