DC lateral partner hiring among 50 Am Law firms slows

Recruiting firm Macrae found that partner hiring at Am Law 50 and Magic Circle law firms in Washington, D.C., fell about 6% in the first half of the year, even as other markets saw a surge in partner moves.

Partner changes in several DC practices also declined compared to the pace of changes in the first half of 2023. In DC, this included antitrust (down 8%), banking (down 50%), corporate (down 40%), government (down 92%) and litigation (down 28%) practices in the first two quarters of 2024.
