This huge LG monitor can replace your entire computer

We’re not new to smart monitors. These are some of the best monitors out there, and they let you turn your work screen into an entertainment panel when you’re off work. But LG’s latest MyView smart monitor goes a step further. It wants to replace your entire computer. I know it’s a bold ambition. But I think it could work for a lot of people.

Step aside, iMac, there’s a new kid in town. In a way. LG’s new MyView smart monitor is more like a Chromebook – it’s still a monitor first and foremost, not a computer. But it can replace your entire computer if you’re on a tighter budget. All your essential apps, like email, document editors, and cloud storage, are all available on the monitor – no PC or laptop required. Of course, you’ll need a keyboard and mouse. The 21:9 UltraWide display means you can keep multiple tabs and windows open at once, optimizing your workflow with the built-in split-screen feature.

Beyond its productivity, the 34SR65QC is fantastic to look at. It has a wide WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and a VA panel that delivers 300 nits of brightness, wide viewing angles, and 99% sRGB color gamut coverage. The UltraWide screen is perfect for those who love true 21:9 video. It’s the first display in LG’s MyView lineup to stream 21:9 video.

The LG webOS monitor also offers access to a range of top content services, such as Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video, with personalized viewing recommendations. LG Channels offers over 300 channels with the best extras, from movies and sports to dramas and kids’ shows. And let’s not forget AirPlay 2 and ScreenShare support, which lets you stream or mirror content from your smartphone. The 34SR65QC comes with a basic remote control for power and volume, but it’s also compatible with the LG Magic Remote. Connect it to the LG ThinQ and you can even use your smartphone as a remote.

Fancy an upgrade for your screen? The LG MyView Smart Monitor 34SR65QC will hit shelves worldwide, starting in the US and Korea in August, with other markets following soon after. Pricing has been set at $799/£749/€899, and you can pre-order it directly.
