The Northeast Georgia Humane Society has officially named Juan Cueto as president and executive director of the organization.

Cueto, who previously served as the center’s interim CEO following the resignation of Allison Mayfield, brings more than three decades of experience in the nonprofit sector to the organization.

“We look forward to working closely with Juan as we continue to strengthen our message and purpose,” said Ed Schrader, the shelter’s board chairman. “He has already proven to be an exceptional leader who aligns with our mission-driven philosophy, making him an ideal ambassador for our organization. As we face unprecedented animal welfare challenges and look forward to future opportunities to expand our mission, we are confident that Juan is the best person for the job.”

Before joining the shelter, Cueto served as CEO of Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House, a resource for patients and caregivers undergoing treatment in Atlanta.

“We are confident in Juan’s commitment to our organization and look forward to the new heights we will reach with his leadership, passion and sincerity. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have him in this permanent role,” Shrader said.
