‘Clone High’ Renewal Cancelled After Two Seasons at Max

Cancellation of “Clone High” concert at Max.

The streaming platform originally ordered two seasons of the animated series in 2021. The first season of the revival debuted in 2023, with the second season set to debut in February 2024.

“While Max will not be continuing on with a third season of ‘Clone High,’ we will always treasure our creative partnership with Chris Miller, Phil Lord, Bill Lawrence, Erica Rivinoja, Eric Durbin, Judah Miller, Corey Campodonico, Alex Bulkley and the team at MTV Entertainment Studios,” Max said in a statement. “The incredibly talented voice actors, writers, cast and crew provided the opportunity to unfreeze these iconic characters.”

The show originally aired for one season on MTV from 2002 to 2003 before Max was announced to be renewed. According to the official description, it followed “a high school for the clones of history’s greatest minds. Twenty years after the original experiment was frozen, Joan, JFK, Abe, and Cleo are unfrozen to resume school with their new clone friends — all while navigating a new set of cultural norms and overly dramatic teenage relationships.”

The show features voices from Will Forte, Nicole Sullivan, Christa Miller, Ayo Edebiri, Mitra Jouhari, Vicci Martinez, Kelvin Yu, Neil Casey, and Donald Faison. Series co-creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller also provide voices for the show.

In addition to Lord & Miller, Bill Lawrence also served as co-creator and executive producer on the series. Erica Rivinoja, Erik Durbin, Judah Miller, Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley of ShadowMachine and Jeff Ingold of Lawrence’s Doozer Productions also served as executive producers. MTV Entertainment Studios produced the series.

The cancellation was first reported by TVLine.
