Haaland: City made me a better player

Erling Haaland says he has become a better player and person during his time at Manchester City.

The Norwegian is confident that he will continue to develop in the coming months, given that he has already had a phenomenal start to his career at the Club.

Incredibly, Haaland is now approaching 100 goals for City and has won the Premier League Golden Boot in each of his two full seasons in English football.

He arrived at City already with a reputation as a goalscoring threat but believes his time under Guardiola has taken his game to new heights.

“Yes, I have improved in many ways,” our number nine told the press ahead of the clash with AC Milan.

“I strive to be a better version of myself, both on and off the pitch.

“I have said many times that there are many things I can improve on.

“I’m working on it, hopefully this season I’ll be a better player and a better person.”

Haaland also said he feels ready for the 2024/25 season.

Norway’s failure to qualify for Euro 2024 means the City striker has enjoyed a lengthy summer break.

He returned to action, scoring in the opening match of the US tour against Celtic, the same match in which Guardiola also handed him the captain’s armband.

Haaland said he is fully rested and ready for the remaining pre-season friendlies and the upcoming season.

“Yes, of course I would like to play at the Euros and I hope to do it one day, but I’ve had the longest break since 2017, so it was nice,” he added.

“My body is completely rested and I feel ready… it was an amazing feeling.

“I needed it. I was pretty tired. It’s going to be a long season this year.”
