The 2024 Congress Application Competition is now open

July 26 – US Representative August Pfluger‘s Office is now accepting applications for the 2024 Congressional App Competition. The competition is open to all students in grades 6-12 in Texas’ 11th congressional district and is an opportunity for students to develop skills in computer science and STEM.

The application deadline is October 24th at 12:00 PM EST. Students can register and submit their application here.

The winner from the 11th Congressional District, chosen by a panel of experts, will be featured on the House of Representatives website, House.gov, as well as on CongressionalAppChallenge.us. The winning app will also be displayed in the U.S. Capitol among other winners from across the country, Pfluger’s newsletter reported. Additional sponsorship awards will be announced.

Rules

— Students will create an application for PCs, websites, tablets, robots, mobile devices, etc. Any type of programming will be accepted, such as C, C++, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or “block code.”

— There are no restrictions on the topic or subject matter of the application.

— Students can work individually or in teams of up to four people.
