Adam Peaty’s Net Worth Isn’t Like His Girlfriend’s Mega-Rich Dad’s Net Worth | Other | Sports

Adam Peaty is one of the stars of Team GB, but he has a surprisingly low net worth compared to many other famous athletes. The three-time Olympic champion is a swimming sensation, having won gold in the 100m breaststroke at both the Rio and Tokyo Games, as well as being part of the 2021 100m medley relay triumph.

The 29-year-old has set an impressive 14 world records in his career. His absolute dominance in the 100m breaststroke – just one of the events he competes in – has seen him win every European, Commonwealth, World and Olympic final from 2014 to 2021.

After the Tokyo Games, the swimmer became a household name by competing on Strictly Come Dancing. Peaty took a break from swimming in 2023 and began dating Holly Ramsay, the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. However, the Olympic hero does not share the same level of wealth that Ramsay has amassed over his years in the spotlight.

Peaty’s determination to win another Olympic gold certainly resonates with the popular TV chef, who has 17 Michelin stars himself. However, the swimmer’s career is largely financed by lottery and government funding.

Team GB athletes do not receive a bonus for finishing on the podium at the Olympics, and Peaty’s exact earnings are hard to determine. The swimming icon’s net worth is estimated to be between £780,000 and £3.9 million.

The reigning Olympic champion has a sponsorship deal with Speedo and runs the Adam Peaty Sports Clinic, as well as the AP Race Club, which offers advice to swimmers. Peaty also reportedly pocketed £25,000 for his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, where he met Tilly Ramsay, the sister of his future girlfriend Holly.

Despite Peaty’s business ventures, his earnings are dwarfed by those of his girlfriend’s famous father. Chef Ramsay is estimated to be worth £170 million, with an annual income of £46 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Peaty, who is aiming for gold at a third successive Olympics, says spending time with the TV chef has been beneficial. “He’s an incredible energy and an incredible person to get that kind of guidance from,” Peaty told The Sunday Times.

“Gordon is very efficient. He has climbed to the top of his industry and works in a place where there is no s******. I get a lot from that, as well as the professionalism he displays every day with relentless drive.

“So when I see that, I think, ‘Yeah, why can’t I work like that? Why can’t I do that every day? Why do I have to be so emotionally involved in things?’ So I changed my behavior by looking at how he acts with people and in his work.”
