Deepika Padukone is ‘unbeatable’! Kalki 2898 AD star becomes only actress with 3 films grossing over 1000 crores

Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD is unstoppable at the box office. The film is all set to run for a month in theatres. According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, the dystopian sci-fi film starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles has crossed a whopping Rs 1,100 crore gross mark worldwide and Rs 739 crore gross mark in domestic receipts on day 29. Kalki 2898 AD’s net collection stands at Rs 623.7 crore (domestic). With this, the magnum opus, which draws majorly from the Indian epic Mahabharat, has become the seventh Indian film to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark worldwide. Moreover, Darling Prabhas cemented his place as one of the biggest Indian stars of his generation, while Deepika went ‘invincible’ by becoming the only actress to have three films grossing over Rs 1,000 crores.

Interestingly, Deepika delivered two more Rs 1 lakh crore hits in Jawan and Pathaan in 2023, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Recently, her Kalki 2898 AD also joined the Rs 1 lakh crore club. With this, in just two years, Deepika has achieved a milestone that other actresses can only dream of.

Her four films in a row (including Hritik Roshan’s Fighter) have collectively crossed the Rs 3600 crore mark. Well, such a record set by Deepika Padukone is unrivaled and will surely be hard for any other actor to break it.

Amidst Kalki 2898 AD’s stellar run at the box office, rumours were doing the rounds that Deepika might be seen in another much-awaited South film. SSMB29 is currently the most talked about film as it marks SS Rajamouli’s collaboration with Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu. The African action-adventure drama is making headlines in its genre and the pre-production works are in full swing. Going by the growing enthusiasm among the audiences for SSMB29, one can expect the film to easily cross the Rs 1 lakh crore mark. If the rumours of Deepika’s participation are any indication, the Om Shanti Om actress will secure her fourth film in the Rs 1 lakh crore range.
