3 West Michigan Startups Compete for Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Award

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Three entrepreneurs of color who previously won a competition organized by Grand Rapids-based Start Garden are now among 250 semifinalists in the startup business competition founded by Grammy Award-winning music producer and artist Pharrell Williams.

Three semi-finalists — Michael Hyacinthe, Andrea Wallace and Darren Riley — will have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring group, with the grand prize winners being announced in November.
