‘Penguin’: Colin Farrell Menaces Gotham in Comic-Con Trailer | Video

Crime in Gotham City seems to be spiraling out of control, judging by the first trailer for HBO’s “Penguin,” which was released Saturday during the series’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con in Hall H.

Star Collin Farrell didn’t attend the panel in person, but chimed in via video to make a virtual appearance. Shortly after the trailer, you can watch the trailer below:

After watching the trailer, Farrell ran into some technical difficulties because he thought no one could hear him. (In reality, moderator Josh Horowitz’s microphone was broken.)

During the discussion, star Cristin Milioti confessed that as a child, when she played riddles, she would pretend she was the Riddler’s daughter.

San Diego Comic Con 2024

The Penguin is set in the same universe as Matt Reeves’ The Batman. The cast includes Colin Farrell (Oz Cobb), Cristin Milioti (Sofia Falcone), Rhenzy Feliz (Victor Aguilar), Michael Kelly (Johnny Viti), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Nadia Maroni), Deirdre O’Connell (Francis Cobb), Clancy Brown (Salvatore Maroni), James Madio (Milos Grapa), Scott Cohen (Luca Falcone), Michael Zegen (Alberto Falcone), Carmen Ejogo (Eve Karlo) and Theo Rossi (Dr. Julian Rush).

Created by Lauren LeFranc and executive produced by Matt Reeves, the series is set after the events of the 2022 film “Batman” and focuses on Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, and Gotham’s criminal underworld.

In addition to Reeves and LeFranc, the series is executive produced by Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Craig Zobel, Daniel Pipski and Bill Carraro. Zobel is also directing the first three episodes of the limited series.

“The Penguin” is based on the DC characters originally created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger and is produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Both 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions have an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television.
