Bengaluru’s ‘Road Pothole Attention’ app will help report, track and fix potholes on roads — Here’s how residents can use it — Roadways News

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday, July 27, launched a mobile app called ‘Road Pothole Attention’ in collaboration with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

With the help of advanced technology, the app helps identify and repair potholes in Bengaluru’s road network, ensuring transparency and efficiency. It uses GPS technology to map all the roads under the BBMP’s jurisdiction, reports The Indian Express. The app will identify potholes based on their latitude and longitude, record their dimensions and generate specific work orders for their repair.

Not only BBMP and Bangalore Traffic Police Department officials, even common people will be able to access the app. They will also be able to report potholes to the authorities through the app, IE was told.

Bengaluru Potholes App: How to Use

To use the app, people will have to download the “Raste Gundi Gamana” or “Road Pothole Attention” app on their mobile phones. They can then select their preferred language from English and Kannada. Users will be able to register using their mobile number.

The app automatically detects the user’s current location. Using the app, users can describe the problem and submit a complaint, after which they receive a case number. The information is then sent to the appropriate authorities, who are required to review the complaint within a specified time. Users can also track the status of their complaints through the app. Available for Android devices, the app requires a single login and can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
