Sharjah Training and Development Centre to provide 960 training hours to 279 trainees in first half of 2024

SHARJAH, 28th July 2024 (WAM) — Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), affiliated with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), announced its achievements and completed business plan targets for the first half of 2024.

The Center successfully completed 960 hours of training thirty various training programmes attended by 279 trainees during the first six months of 2024. Participants included employees and administrative staff of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and public and private sector entities, as well as university students and job seekers.

In a report issued by STDC, the Centre revealed that in the first half of 2024, it strengthened its cooperation by renewing its accreditation as a certified provider of training programmes from various government and private entities for 2024 and 2025.

These entities include the governments of Dubai, Ajman and Sharjah, as well as the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Sharjah Municipality’s food safety and IT consultancy programmes, and two private organisations: Highfield UK and TSI.

STDC also received renewed accreditation as a training and examination centre for the IELTS English language examination.

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of the Support Services Sector at SCCI, said that the Sharjah Training and Development Centre plays a key role in developing the competencies of individuals and institutions, providing the labour market with a highly skilled workforce that can meet the demands of economic growth.

The high quality and effectiveness of the training programmes and courses offered by the Centre reflect the commitment of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce to supporting business development through training and qualification of domestic staff.

STDC’s annual educational program meets the needs of individuals and businesses, covers various areas and aims to improve the skills of employees and administrative leaders using the latest trends in training and consulting.

Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director of Human Resources at SCCI, confirmed that STDC training programs are of great importance in the ever-changing job market that requires professionals to acquire the latest knowledge and improve their skills.

The Centre’s individually tailored programmes aim to increase the effectiveness of human resources in the workplace and improve their efficiency, ultimately benefiting the sectors in which they operate.

Amal Abdullah Al Ali, Director of STDC, noted that the Strategic Business Leadership Programme topped the list of achievements of the Centre in the first half of 2024. The significance of the programme lies in its role in improving the skills of participating executive leaders.

The Centre recently graduated 11 Strategic Business Leadership Programme participants and provided several training hours for other initiatives. These include 11 in-house programmes for Sharjah Chamber staff and 16 programmes tailored for private and public sector institutions, and organised 3 field visits that facilitated the exchange of best practices and experiences.

Notably, STDC trained 65 Sharjah Chamber employees, as well as 40 university students and 155 trainees from the private and government sectors. In addition, it provided 95 hours of training to enhance the skills of 19 SCCI HR staff.

In addition, in the first half of this year the Centre conducted two workshops and two educational and awareness-raising seminars for SCCI employees and the public and private sectors.

These activities contributed to raising the level of knowledge and awareness in various fields, highlighting the key role of STDC in developing individual and institutional skills, supporting the local economy and promoting sustainable growth.
