Grimes’ mother says Elon Musk is ‘preventing’ the couple’s three children from going on family trips

The grandmother of Elon Musk’s three children said on Saturday that the children’s planned visit to their sick mother had been canceled and she asked him to take action.

Sandy Garossino, the mother of Claire Boucher, better known as musician Grimes, posted a series of messages on X, a social media platform owned by Musk, because she said she had no other way to contact Musk. Grimes shared the initial post with her 1.3 million followers on the app.

“It was nice to see you on Father’s Day. I hope you got the card I helped make X. He was so proud of it,” she wrote, referring to one of the children he had with Grimes. “I’m writing here because it’s the only way I can contact you. As you know, my 93-year-old mother is now in palliative care for the dying.”

“I am concerned to learn that the children cannot come because you are denying them and their required passport documents access to Claire,” Garossino continued, using Grimes’ first name.

Grimes and Musk dated on and off for several years and have three children. Both parents are embroiled in a legal custody battle in courts in California and Texas.

Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment. He did not respond to X on Garossino’s posts, though he was active on the app Saturday, including after Garossino posted.

Grimes’ representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Garossino declined to comment beyond social media posts.

Garossino, a columnist for the Canadian news website National Observer, told the X show that she was disturbed by the news on television that Musk had arrived in Paris for the Olympics with at least one of his children.

“Where are the other children and with whom? They are supposed to be with their mother,” she wrote.

Garossino said the matter was urgent because her mother is 93 and receives end-of-life palliative care. She said Saturday was her mother’s birthday.

“I am writing to ask my grandmother to please honor your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they will need to be able to see their great-grandmother before she dies,” she wrote.

Musk is the father of 12 children. His relationship with one of them, 20-year-old Vivian Jenna Wilson, exploded this week when Musk said in an interview that he considered Wilson, who is transgender, to be symbolically dead and infected with the “woke mind virus.” Wilson told NBC News in an interview Thursday that Musk was a largely absent father who scolded her as a child for not being more masculine, including yelling at her to lower her voice when she was still in elementary school.

Grimes has publicly expressed support for Wilson, telling The X show on Thursday: “I love Vivian and I am forever and infinitely proud of her.”

Wilson said Saturday that she supports Grimes in the custody dispute and that Musk continues to act irresponsibly as a father.

Wilson wrote on Threads that Elon “kept her children, her children, away from their mother during the most important period of a child’s development.”
