Budget to help Raj become $350 billion economy, says Khattar

Jaipur: Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said the federal budget will pave the way for Rajasthan’s economy to grow to $350 billion.
Addressing a press conference, Khattar said the Centre was focusing on development infrastructure, industry, energy and tourism Rajasthan. “Rajasthan holds a special place in the tourism sector in the whole of India, contributing five per cent to the country’s GDP through tourism. The government in the state will develop several tourist spots and routes. Moreover, development of industrial parks, including one in Jodhpur-Pali Marwar Park, will create employment opportunities able.”
The Centre has initiated several programmes to provide employment to every family, including vocational training for youth and programmes such as the PM Employment Programme, the Poor Welfare Food Programme and the PM Free Solar Home Electricity Programme.
“A dual-engine government will help deliver benefits under these programmes. Ultimately, it will ensure employment, food security and autonomy in terms of power,” Khattar said.
He said a grant of over Rs 9,000 crore for development of railways to increase connectivity. Criticising the Congress for misleading the country on the Union Budget, he said the Congress was working to divide the country on the basis of caste and religion. The way they are spreading rumours about ending reservation during elections, in a similar manner, they are also misinforming people about the Budget, Khattar said.
