The state will publish an entrepreneurship index

Kochi: Kerala to announce entrepreneurship index to reveal the state of the industry and investment potential in all 14 districtssaid Minister for Industries, Law and Coir P Rajeeve on Monday. He said it would be a pioneering move by any state in the country.
The minister said the proposed move would lead to investment-based rankings in all districts of the state during the inauguration of the ‘Continuous Investment Conference’ organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) with the support of the Department of Industries and Commerce.
The minister told the 282-person gathering that the index, based on investor-friendly guidelines, would shed light on which district is leading in a particular sector and what job opportunities it offers. investors at the conclave. “We took our state’s health index as a model,” he added.
APM Principal Secretary (Industrial) Mohammed Hanish chaired the opening session of the meet which was attended by delegates who have invested not less than Rs 5 crore in the last three years, taking the total investment to close to Rs 12,000 crore from the state alone.
“Master Plan for Using the Full Potential of Vizhinjam Port”
The state government is preparing a comprehensive master plan to utilise the full potential of the Vizhinjam port for the benefit of various sectors, Rajeeve said while interacting with investors at the day-long Conclave.
The master plan, which is in its final phase, will map out a strategy to utilise the port for the benefit of various sectors, including medical devices, electronics and manufacturing, he said. Referring to the issues in each sector, Rajeeve said the state government has planned a series of international roundtables on 12 sectors. The first in the series on robotics will be held in Kochi on August 24. The International Robotics Roundtable will be attended by investors, researchers and startups.

The CAG highlighted a shortage of 34% of health workers in Chhattisgarh, including a shortage of 33% of doctors. Despite improvements, the state still lags behind WHO benchmarks. It noted an uneven distribution of health workers across regions. The CAG urged the government to adopt a comprehensive human resources policy to address these imbalances and improve the quality of healthcare.
